Pain in the hand

Pain in the hand indicates the presence of a pathological process in the bones and soft tissue structures of the distal upper limb. Sensations differ significantly in nature and duration, they can be weak, intense, sharp, dull, long-term, short-term. Sometimes there is a connection between pain and physical activity, other factors. To clarify the diagnosis, a survey, physical examination, radiography, CT, MRI of the hand, and other diagnostic procedures are carried out. Until the cause of the pain is determined, rest is recommended, sometimes analgesics are allowed.

Joint swelling

Swelling of the joints occurs with traumatic injuries, rheumatic, orthopedic, infectious, endocrine diseases. May affect one, several or many joints. It is accompanied by an increase, a change in the contours of the periarticular areas. Often combined with pain, redness, increased local temperature. The cause of the swelling is determined using interview data, physical examination, radiography, other imaging techniques, and laboratory tests. Before diagnosis, functional rest is recommended, sometimes the use of topical agents is acceptable.

Lameness

Lameness develops with injuries, degenerative and inflammatory diseases of bones, joints, soft tissues, vascular diseases, neurological, dermatological pathologies. It can occur due to pain, limb deformity, paresis, circulatory disorders. Lameness can be constant, intermittent, or intermittent. The diagnosis is made on the basis of anamnesis, examination data, radiography, CT, and other studies. Before determining the cause of lameness, it is possible to use additional devices (canes, crutches), in some cases, it is acceptable to take analgesics.
