Disease Begins Acutely : Causes, Symptoms, Diagnosis & Treatment

Joint asymmetry

Joint asymmetry is observed in traumatic injuries, developmental anomalies, inflammatory and degenerative articular pathologies. Sometimes it occurs as a reaction of the body to diseases of other organs and systems. May be due to edema, fluid accumulation, changes in the configuration of solid structures, atrophy, fibrosis of the periarticular soft tissues. The cause of the asymmetry is determined according to the data of the survey, external examination, radiography, ultrasound, and other imaging and laboratory methods. Painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs may sometimes be taken before a diagnosis is made.

Watery diarrhea

Watery diarrhea is repeated (up to 15-20 times a day) defecation, which is accompanied by the release of loose loose stools. Usually the symptom is combined with other dyspeptic disorders: vomiting, cramps, abdominal pain. Diarrhea with water is most often associated with intestinal infections, but can be observed with non-infectious intestinal pathologies, enzyme deficiency. To establish the causes of diarrhea, ultrasound, x-rays, endoscopy, and laboratory tests are used. To stop diarrhea, adsorbents, enveloping and astringent preparations are used.

Joint swelling

Swelling of the joints occurs with traumatic injuries, rheumatic, orthopedic, infectious, endocrine diseases. May affect one, several or many joints. It is accompanied by an increase, a change in the contours of the periarticular areas. Often combined with pain, redness, increased local temperature. The cause of the swelling is determined using interview data, physical examination, radiography, other imaging techniques, and laboratory tests. Before diagnosis, functional rest is recommended, sometimes the use of topical agents is acceptable.

Superficial cough

A superficial cough (cough) is a cough paroxysm without sputum separation or discharge of a small amount of mucus when the upper respiratory tract is affected. It may have natural causes or indicate diseases of the oropharynx and larynx, allergies, complications when taking medications. To establish the causes of the symptom, an instrumental examination of the respiratory organs, esophagoscopy, contrast radiography of the esophagus, ultrasound of the thyroid gland, serological and microbiological methods, and allergy tests are recommended. To alleviate the condition before making a diagnosis, it is permissible to use antiseptics, local anesthetics, inhalations.

Enlarged axillary lymph nodes

Enlargement of the axillary lymph nodes (axillary lymphadenopathy) is an excessive growth of lymphoid formations in the armpits, in which palpable nodes appear more than 1 cm in diameter. The symptom is observed in inflammatory diseases and breast cancer, hemoblastoses, infectious processes. To identify the root causes of axillary lymphadenopathy, ultrasound, x-ray, cytological, and laboratory studies are performed. The appointment of medications is indicated only after the establishment of the disease that provoked lymphoid hyperplasia.
